Is this the right topic for fellow anxious drivers?

I know there are a lot of us out there.....(.& a fair few people who don't understand the associated anxiety).
I am trying to book refresher lessons during the school holidays to overcome my fear of roundabouts ....... after trying and failing to find a route to a friends house that would avoid them. My fear is so bad that I am now not going to see her.
Would love to chat with anyone else trying to deal with this!

Hi op I’ve been anxious about driving for years. When I first passed my test I was fine I drove everywhere and then after a rear end shunt when my son was a toddler I got spooked. I’m ok now as long as I know where I’m going but I stress for days/hours if I have to drive somewhere for work that I don’t know and feel like people always make fun of me. Absolutely hate not knowing about parking When I get there too so I stress about that. Roundabouts can be stressful, it’s a great idea to do some refreshing with someone else in the car for reassurance. I’ve often wished I could have a cd to pop in the car which talks about driving anxiety. If I can help in any way please ask x

@PetuniaClark do you drive a manual or automatic?

Anxious driver too. I feel like I have to be able to drive perfectly straight away because people are so unpleasant if you make a mistake.
