I am on HR care and LR mobility I also get Esa with severe disablement and I get Carers allowance for my daughter. I am given enough money but most people get jealous but I keep it from them as best I can. However DS aged 14 best friend keeps moaning that I get more money than his mum does for working, I'm sure it seems like I have more money as well as I am very good with money handling. But I have told DS not to tell his friend about our finances but his friend keeps asking things like how can your mum afford that when my mum can't and my mum works? Don't really know how to handle this tbh.

It's difficult isn't it- If you're on tax credits esa carers pip and your dc gets dla you probably get around 700 per week without taking into account ct Benefit and hb or mortgage relief payments it's not amount that is easy to achieve working. On the other hand though I'm sure they wouldn't want the added pressure of a disabled child or your illnesses. As a side note, why do your children know about your finances?

I don't discuss it with DS but I don't hide it from him either if he asks me a question I say yes plus he often borrows my card.
