Hello just need some advice as I’m am really an anxious right now and need some advice.

My brother passed away last month unexpectedly from suspected cardiac arrest and since then I have had 3 panic attacks. I have never had them before ever and I’m so sacred because they feels like I’m having a heart attack and I feel like I’m going to die. At first my chest feels tight and I get short of breath then my heart starts racing, I get tingles in my hands and feet, I feel hot and i feel dizzy and out of touch with my body. What doesn’t help is that my brother had heart problems and had heart attack before. Also his condition might of been genetic but he passed away before they could test him for that.
I’m going to get a doctors appointment today and I would really appreciate any advice on how to cope with panic attacks.

Sorry for drip feeding but I’m so scared because I have a daughter and I don’t want her seeing me like thisSad

So very sorry to hear about your brother it sounds like you've been through a really traumatic time and it's no wonder you're experiencing this anxiety and panic.

There is a free text service called shout www.giveusashout.org you can text someone to speak to for support 24/7
Or you can call the Samaritans for free www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/

A close friend recently experienced post traumatic stress and she found both these services helpful, along with support from GP who could also point her in the direction of local mental health support -she's getting there with things now

Please keep reaching out for support as there's lots out there to help you in this difficult time xx
