Hypnotherapy to help me forget

Hi, I’ve often heard of hypnotherapy being used as a tool to help you remember things, to uncover buried memories and traumas in order to exorcise them. But what if I want to forget something, or stop particular thoughts from randomly arising ...? I’m consumed with thoughts about a particular and very upsetting “world” issue... I really needn’t be, it’s just silly, it’s not like I’m responsible for causing the issue... but I can’t get these thoughts out of my head and they are impacting on my life quite a bit as I keep getting upset whenever I think about this thing. Just wondered if hypnotherapy has helped anyone in a similar situation? Or CBT, or anything else that has helped? Thanks

I had success with this video. It didn't make me forget my worries but I don't put the same emotional weight on them, so I feel free. Try it with a minor thought at first so you can work through the process.

Hi @growinggreyer, thank you for the link! I certainly think this could help me with some issues... maybe not the one I posted about, as that isn’t about a traumatic event, just traumatic thoughts that pop up when triggered by certain things. But I might use this video to try and process some of the actual traumas I need to deal with ... thank you for hitting me up 😊
