How do you control your anxiety

Hi all,

I'm curious as to how people control their anxiety. I've always been an anxious yet busy person. I have bad phases where I have CBT (around every 2-3 years) and I have had anxiety since early teens due to bullying and my house being burlged whilst I was young.

Since college I have grown in confidence and I am an outgoing chatty person. But when I have anxiety I struggle to do most things like I won't go out because there might not be a toilet or I might be sick or I will be snappy at my partner and family and feel really tired but truthfully I'm just anxious. I try to think what could it be and sometimes. I know why and others I don't.

I have done headspace which helped a lot CBT as well and I have recently started bike riding but how does everyone else control their anxiety? Like when I'm feeling anxious even though I know what will help I don't help myself and I'm wondering if there's anything different I could be doing

Thanks 😊

The biggest thing I did was really understand that I don't have to do anything about my feelings. Stopping trying to control my feelings (which is me really being controlled by them) and just letting them happen and carrying on with my life, made the biggest change for me.

That's quite good I find head space helped with that understand that it's a feeling but sometimes I just almost lie there and choose not to listen to the advice I want to be constantly in that healthy frame of mind where I can see that it's just a. Feeling and I don't need to do anything
