Is there a way through this?

So DC2 (of 3) is 11 and suffering from depression / anxiety - triggered by move to secondary but many multiples worse since lockdown. GP has queried ASD and thinks DC2 needs professional help but CAMHS won't see them so we are having to pay for counselling (that they are determined not to engage in).

I know DH is struggling with all this. He has previously had counselling for GAD and is very concerned about DC2. To the point where it is impacting his work (both of us FT from home, while trying to engage 3 very reluctant DC with homeschooling).

His work are suggesting he goes PT to help with stress and because he basically isn't delivering and they need to cut costs owing to whole economic clusterfuck. But then we won't be able to afford DC counselling (or our house, bills etc). Which makes him more stressed and worried, which makes him less able to function and, well you get the point...

Has anyone had a depressed anxious 11 year old and actually helped them? If there is an ASD diagnosis, will that even help?

And if we can't help DC2, how do I help DH to function, as he will spiral for sure if he loses job. Looking at counselling for him too, but weekly sessions for 2 people is £600+ a month which we don't have...

Could your husbands mental illness be driving your sons and his reaction? If his father was happy would it impact your son and help him improve?

I’m wondering if yah can help your husband get well it would help alleviate the stress in your home and thus help your son.

I don't think DH mental state is the cause of DC2 issues. But it doesn't help the overall atmosphere at home and I can see that it impacts negatively on DC1.

Am trying not to blame DH, but listening to him talk about how worried he is, while his actions are making the situation worse is hard to sympathise with. Especially as all my resources are used up on DC2 and trying to make things vaguely normal for the other DC.

I'm just so tired and I don't know what to do. I feel like no one is going to take us seriously until someone tries to physically harm themselves. DC2 school has not been in touch once during lockdown, despite the fact they are completing absolutely no work since about week 3. I have emailed to say why and school has acknowledged, but no follow up call from tutor or anything. GP is trying but there isn't anyone to help.
