Zyban / bupropion?

Have been prescribed zyban / bupropion by my Dr.

I'm in a bad place atm, so bad that I honestly am afraid to take these, if they make me feel worse I don't think I'll manage.

Has anyone been on these? Any experiences you'd like to share?

I was on it for a while (in addition to sertraline). I had to stop for completely unrelated reasons but so definitely didn't have any negative side effects or feel worse. They're not often prescribed in the UK but they're supposed to be very effective. Wishing you the best.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just scared, I've been on most anti ds but they don't work for me. I think my brain processes meds differently.. Know these are off label, used more so in US. I want to feel better, I'm just scared of feeling worse & the adjustment period.
Thanks

I think they’re quite different from most ADs aren’t they? As they don’t reduce dopamine levels or something. So it’s worth a try if others haven’t worked for you. I’d really like to try it myself, I hope it helps 💐

@GemGemma Are you in the UK? I have been after trying this but cannot find any doctor who will prescribe (for depression).

I'm not in UK. I had a very hard time getting the psychiatrist to prescribe, as its off label. Zyban is the exact same wellbutrin but under a different name. I've been on most anti ds over 20 years, they don't work. I had to push for it. Hope you can too x
