Fluoxetine?

Has anyone had fluoxetine for anxiety?
I've been prescribed capsules which are too big for me to take (I know) and I'm just wondering whether it's worth persevering or not?
I've tried other medications in the past and they've just not worked for me for various reasons.

Oh bran that is exactly the sort of thing I need to hear! We're you prescribed it for anxiety may I ask? I'm glad it is working for you already.
Are there many side effects?

Depression amd anxiety.
Ive tried a few other antidepressants before but came off due to side effects. Been taking 5htp for a few years but its not been enough.
Only side effect so far is tiredness yet insomnia so im.taking it 1st thing in the morning to try and counteract that

You can get it as a liquid! I used to take it in liquid form at one point when I was either going on it or coming off it, and wanted to do it more gradually than the pills would have worked out.

I was on it for several years - five maybe? It worked for the first few, although was no miracle cure. I just functioned better, until eventually didn't again. The good bit for me was that I didn't have many side effects from it at all - apart from losing my orgasms.

Bran - yes I've tried sertraline and citalopram and couldn't cope with the side effects so came off them. I'm hoping it's different this time.

Insane - I've just this afternoon managed to get hold of some tablet form ones, which are much smaller and easy to swallow. The only thing is they only come in 10mg so I will need to take 2 a day. But I'm happy with that because I can take 10 or even 5mg to ease into it to begin with. I had heard there was a liquid form, but when I spoke to the doctor she said it wasn't suitable?! I will press that issue again because these tablets seem very hard to get hold of (I tried various pharmacies and they all said due to covid they wouldn't have any in stock until September!) and I really can't swallow the capsules
