3am brain is telling me I can't go on. I have to go on, telling it to duck off is hurting though.

Oooh sorry to read this. You are not alone!

I don't know how to deal with it. I'm not listening to it but it's persistent and i want it to shut up. I am keeping going but it's so hard, I just want to feel better. It's not a voice in my head telling me to do it but it's that nagging feelings it's the only way but I know it's not, I'm so screwed.

It's not the only way, and you're not alone in this, I promise. Do you have any support in real life? As for right now, can you put your mind to something you enjoy/would help you settle so you're not just lying there with a busy mind? Middle of the night is always the worst time for me, and your brain isn't telling you the truth. It's lonely and scary right now, but you're not alone. You matter, and you just have to keep putting one foot in front of the other. I promise it can get better Thanks

Hope you are feeling better. Try the Samaritans, it’s supeisingly helpful to chat to someone, and there is a lot of helplines. Be very nice to yourself today, it is just thoughts, it will get better.
[email protected] is offering free relaxing half hours while covid is on, really recommend.

I don't think I ever can feel better. one day my life will come to end and i won't hasten it but it will be a relief when it finally comes.
i've experienced too much to have a happy life.

Have you tried the Shout text service. I actually found it quite helpful.

Shanster · 09/06/2020 03:31

Hope you are ok OP, please don’t give in to the voice. Middle of the night is always the worst. Please get some help in the morning though.

towelnolongerrequired · 09/06/2020 18:32

I'm getting some counselling support starting later this week.
I'll look at Shout, thank you.

Shout looks good! Samaritans is 24/7 so maybe worth a try. Glad you are getting counselling. Don’t know if it helps but someone on here somewhere suggested www.meditainment.com/ which is a nice soothing voice taking you somewhere relaxing in a story. You may be too wound up to listen, in which case I was told to try a sharp intake of breath until your lungs are full, then let it out slowly. Apparantly this fools your body into thinking it’s relaxed, then stroke you hand and it thinks it’s getting a cuddle. Told this by the people at Maggies cancer care so they should know!
