What does it mean when you keep having dreams about someone?

When asking Google this question, it says we're thinking about the person before we fall asleep.

Except, I keep forgetting this person exists, until I dream about them.
I seem to have a dream about them every 2 months or so.
These dreams have been happening for over 7 years now.

I'm at the stage of being completely confused and it's actually getting me down.

I would try not to worry about what it means, dreams can be so random.

I still dream quite a lot of my one ex-boyfriend who I dated for 9 months 20 years ago in a relationship that wasn't very intense or significant, I hardly ever think of him when awake. Similarly, I quite often dream of people from my secondary school who I barely knew at all, and I definitely wasn't thinking of them when I went to sleep!
