Any experts on sleep disorders?

I'm asking this for a friend - honestly!

A friend is in a court battle with her ex over contact with their kid. She told me that the ex has a sleep disorder that causes him to grope people in his sleep. She has never seen any official documentation about this 'diagnosis' with her own eyes, she only has his word for it. I am thinking that this sounds like bullshit, but maybe I'm too cynical.

Any psychiatrists/psychologists/sleep experts, does this sound plausible?
