Was on 40mg for a year, tapered of very slowly (with GP advice) took my last tablet about 2-3 weeks ago and I feel awful. Nausea, brain zaps, really irritable and low. I chose a bad time to come off them during lockdown, but I thought why not as WFH and DP is off on furlough. I am struggling to be a cheery mum for DD5, she demands a lot of attention and things are strange for her just now. Please tell me I'll feel better soon , does this last long? I am struggling to see a light at the end of the tunnel but definitely want to come off them

It’s getting out of your system more and more every day. If you can accept all the withdrawal symptoms and try to carry on as best as you can it will make withdrawal easier. I had the same with Venlafaxine, it was hell. But it passed. 5 weeks for that for me, hopefully it’s similar with fluoxetine.

Thank you. That is a helpful way to look at it knowing everyday it's a little less km my system

Feeling a bit better this week. Head zaps gone, no more horrid dreams and nausea is going too. Just feel down and anxious, lockdown doesn't help with those feelings. I'm really hoping i don't need to go back on them but im still in "withdrawals" i think. Wish i had something to look forward to! But im too scared to book a 2021 holiday.

@Wildcat88 this drug stays in the body a long time so I'm surprised to hear you've had withdrawals, particularly as bad as you report. Everybody is different. My experience of antidepressant withdrawal was to go really slowly. Hopefully the way you feel will pass 💐
