Could anybody tell me which works for PMDD - sertraline, escitalopram or prozac? Also does anybody have experience of low dose fluanxol?

I found sertraline very effective immediately!

@blueglassandfreesias what dose did you take? I was considering trying a low dose during the worst 2 weeks after ovulation.

OP I tried prozac it didn't agree with me. Made me angry when I was supposed to be in my 'good' 2 weeks.

I used 50mg and it was fine.
The only thing I struggled with was a) it stopped me from being able to have an orgasm b) I couldn’t cry and c) I felt slightly nauseous on it.
On the positives I finally felt in control of my mood before my period and removed the rush of DH leaving me!

Thank you for your replies. I felt like prozac was starting to lift me then during my pmdd week it was horrendous, took me months to actually recover from how bad it made me. Sertraline helped anxiety but only by making everything feel flat and far away. Fluanxol is actually the best med I have tried and worked within a week. Highly recommend it. Just feel like me but calmer. Its unreal the difference in just 3 weeks. I felt suicidal since last nov on and off and it feels like a distant memory. No weight gain, no side effects and my hair is even growing back. Please don't think that you need an ssri there are other options if they don't work for you , but if they do great!
