Duloxetine?

Been on 20mg duloxetine for a year now and first of all it was fantastic. My anxiety was nearly nothing until recently it’s crept back up on me, I feel nervous whenever I have to go to the shop and wake up with anxiety. My doctor mentioned putting me up to 30mg but again I’ve been worrying about it as I hear it’s a strong drug with a lot of withdrawals and I don’t really plan to be on it long term. Any help would be appreciated and if you have had experience with duloxetine please let me know your stories.

That's a very low dose, I started at 30mg and was increased to 60 after two weeks

@whyamistillhere do you drink on this?

I agree that's a very low dose - my starting dose was 30mg and it's gradually gone up (expecting to go up to the max dose this week). I would have said the dose was too low to actually have a therapeutic effect so it might be worth trying 30mg. I know a lot of people find it a very helpful. I take it and drink a bottle or two of wine a week.

@mynameiscalypso do you have any withdrawals if you miss doses?

Only get withdrawal if I miss 2 doses in a row. But I’m on a much higher dose than you.

Occasionally drink on it but not often.

I was on 60mg for pain with no problems. Cold turkeyed off (dont do this!), again no problems. I drank on it, as long as I wasnt stupid (happened more than once....) I didnt end up too shitfaced...

I'm probably not the best person to respond as I'm quite patchy at taking it (and therefore not getting the full benefit) but no, it's not noticeable if I miss a dose really.
