Hello
Anyone have a good recommendation for antidepressants which doesn't cause weight gain please?

I am slightly overweight and have arthritis so can't afford to gain more and make that worse.

I'm asking here as I find recommendations from those who have actually tried a drug are so much more accurate than that of doctors who just hand them out.

I really want to try agomelatine. It’s meant to make you sleep and not increase appetite.

Where l live it can only be prescribed by a psychiatrist. I had an appointment next week but due to COVID it’s beanncancelled😥

That sounds more like an allergic reaction than side effects. If you reacted like that to Nortriptyline then I wouldn't try Amitriptyline or imipramine as I think they're the same family.

You wouldn't normally be offered that choice of antidepressant if it wasn't for the physical condition I'm guessing. They are considered more difficult to tolerate. Although a bad reaction like that can (occasionally) happen with various antidepressants. I don't blame you for not wanting to go near them again, but it's very possible you would have a much easier time with a different kind of antidepressant.
