Trazodone anyone?

I recently asked to come off quetiapine as I was really struggling with side effects, and to be honest they didn't help with anything other than sleeping (chronic insomniac).

I have a dx of anxiety, depression, ptsd & eupd/bipolar 2 (they can't make up their mind which..)

Anyway, spoke to a new psychiatrist last week who prescribed trazodone 100mg, mainly for the sedative effect they have.

I've reacted badly to anti depressants (I've taken sertraline, mirtazipine, agomelatine, vortioxetine & venlafaxine..🥺) in the past in that they've made me suicidal, which is why I was put on quetiapine. I also suffer with an eating disorder so won't take anything which is likely to increase my weight. Another reason the Dr suggest trazodone.

Does anyone have experience with trazodone? I'm specifically wondering if I can ask for a non sedating mood stabiliser to take along side? I need something to keep my mood in check otherwise I'm all over the place, up and down, almost manically high or low, but equally I need something for the anxiety, depression and insomnia so want to give the anti-d's another go. Am hopeful as they're not ssri/snri which I've not gotten on well with.

My mum takes trazadone. She has early stage Alzheimer’s and the diagnosis had made her very, very anxious. Gp put her on Sertraline to start but it made her anxiety worse and upset her stomach. She hasn’t slept well for years and since taking the trazadone she has had no side effects and sleeps very well now.

I take trazadone for cptsd, anxiety and insomnia.
I now get around 4 hours sleep a night as opposed to the 2 I had before and get no side effects. I also feel a lot more stable than when I’ve been on other meds.
