Bipolar and not coping

I know we're all in the same boat with social distancing etc but I'm really not coping with it. I feel on the verge of losing it and have been having suicidal thoughts today. I live with my husband and two older teenagers. I just don't think I can get through this.

Are you taking your meds?

crankyhousewife · 30/03/2020 20:59

Yes.

Ok good. The first thing I do when having a wobble is stop taking my meds which makes things 10x worse Grin

What sort of things ground you? In those times, I’ve come off all social media and it’s made a huge difference to my mental state. Are you focusing on lots of negative things?

crankyhousewife · 30/03/2020 21:08

I'm just feeling incredibly fed up and the thought of this going on for months is just more than I can bear. If I was to come off social media I'd feel even more isolated so I can't do that.

I’ve deleted my Facebook but kept insta and Reddit. Except I’ve unfollowed everyone apart from celebrities I admire on insta, and on reddit I only follow pages that me me smile. It really am has been such a huge boost to my mental health. Friends that care about me and who I care about can contact me via WhatsApp or messenger. I found that skimming through Facebook and seeing everyone’s drama, the fake news, that hysteria was making my mental health very low again.

Thank you. It's only really Facebook that I use.

I'm really not coping. I have no-one I can talk to and even my usual online friends aren't around.

Are you able to go for a walk? (I know it's easier said than done)

crankyhousewife · 31/03/2020 12:32

I am trying to get out for a walk most days.

What part of social distancing are you struggling with I know my kids are different ages but I've found doing one fun activity a day such as play monopoly rent a film really helps lift my mood. Just shutting my brain off from the world and having some fun with family could you maybe try that?

Hope you're ok op.
