AD repeat (Venlafaxine)

I placed my request for my repeat at the required time - the surgery have asked us not to request it earlier than the 'next due' date. It was approved and sent to my nominated pharmacy.

I have not yet received a text to say it's ready to collect.

Obviously I know why, but I am torn. I will have very bad withdrawal symptoms if I miss even a single dose and have been instructed never to do this.

Should I phone the pharmacy or go there in person? I don't want to make a fuss when they are working so hard already.

WWYD?

FWIW, I have previously asked the GP surgery if they could change the 'next due' date to a couple of days earlier to give more leeway, but they insisted it was fine. As it stands I request the meds on say a Wed and the last tablet is taken the next day. I take it at bed time, so it's nearly 48hrs.

Maybe with so many people really suffering I need to accept that I may not get my meds on time, but I'm a bit scared of the withdrawal.
It's Venlafaxine.

I’ve taken venlafaxine.

Absolutely get in touch with the GP and/or chemist. The withdrawals are indeed awful.

Another venlafaxine user here. I’d also say to get in touch with the gp, then the pharmacy-the brain zaps when I’m even late taking mine are awful

Thank you random internet people.

I just called the pharmacy. She was snappy with me at first (as I expected...and I got tearful) "we haven't even touched the ones that came in yesterday".

I explained the situation and she said they'd be there after 4pm. I thanked her nicely and then she was kind.

This is going to be a continuing issue I think, but my GP online repeat form states very clearly not to request before the date stated.

I hate making a fuss. Mind you, it's my 'get on with it' mentality which has contributed to me needed the meds in the first place.

I'm glad you will get your meds, venlafaxine withdrawal is terrible.

In the future I know some pharmacies will give out a 7 day emergency supply if you take in your old box and tell them you have run out.

Thank you. They had prioritised filling the prescription for me so it was ready when I went to collect it, and I was sure to thank them.

That's good to know Ginger, thank you.
