Hi šŸ‘‹šŸ»
I was diagnosed with bpd in November 2019 after repeated suicide attempts that led to a 3 week inpatient admission. I’m now 15 weeks pregnant (happened almost as soon as I was discharged) and I’m really struggling with my MH. I’m up and down all the time, I’m angry and upset with everyone, and I’m really finding it difficult to parent my 5 year old. All I can think about is getting this baby out and ODing again :( don’t really know what to do. My GP is useless and I feel like I’ve got no one to turn to. Hoping someone can offer some advice so I can get out of this ridiculous feeling :(

Are you under a CMHT? It definitely sounds like you need more support than you're getting. Can you see a different GP and ask them to refer you to the relevant service?

Hi please get in touch with your local CMHT team.
Do you mind me asking what section you were on when in hospital? It could offer you more community support.
Hoping you feel better Thanks

Hi both, thank you for replying. I’m under a youth service currently as I’m under 25 but I’m finding it’s making me feel worse if anything as the work they’re starting just feels patronising. I wasn’t in on a section, they asked me first if I’d be happy to be admitted and I said yes so I was an informal patient :) I tried to refer myself to the perinatal mental health team in my area also but I’ve heard nothing since :/

I would push to see a different GP and also speak to your midwife?
Can you back in contact with the hospital you had your initial treatment with?

Fern08 · 05/03/2020 19:47

I'll give that a try. It wasn't my local hospital but I wasn't too far out of area so they may be able to offer some advice

Your local CMHT services should have a perinatal mental health service, ask your GP for a referral.
