Sertraline - ups and downs with dosage!

Hi have been on Sertraline for quite a while now. Saw my GP recently and he asked how everything was with me - I said good; everything is fine. My GP said then why don't we reduce your dosage - take 25mg less every other day for a week and then continue on the lower dose. For the first few days I felt fine and then the anxiety kicked in (really unpleasant) so I decided to go back to my original dosage - this was a week ago but I still don't feel like I did before I started reducing my dose.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?

Look forward to hearing from someone who has experienced this!

Yes it'll take a bit of time to even out again, but you'll get there. Just be sure to make it clear to your GP that you're not ready to decrease the dosage. Either you need more time (and maybe other support) to get better, or you need to take it long-term. Plenty of us recognise we're likely to be on it for the foreseeable future, and if it helps so much why not? Smile

Give it a few more days, and take extra care of yourself this week.
