Sertraline and diarrhoea

So sorry for major TMI

Been on sertraline since beginning of January and suddenly for a week I've had really bad diarrhoea and worse it's yellow and I've lost loads of weight because of it, considering going to the doctors tomorrow

Could it be the medication considering I've been on it 2 months or is it something else? Literally feel like not taking it tonight as I'm at a loss

I'm not a medical professional but in my opinion yes I would say it could very possibly be a side effect of the Sertraline, as diarrhoea is a known and common effect.

However, it would do no harm to speak with your GP.

In my experience my stomach was aching for a few months, constipation, cramps, diarrhoea. It settled after 3 months.
I always stayed slim, I put on 15lb too in those 3 months my appetite was wild, it has all settled now bowels and appetite went back to normal.

Thanks both

I didn't take it last night and might only take half tonight - I know that's possibly silly but it's playing on my mind

I went to the doctors today and first thoughts are food poisoning but have to give a sample to them (mortifying) Blush

I can't take Sertraline, gave me horrible diarrhoea

Me too. Explosive runs starting literally 30mins after taking my first tablet.

This is where I'm at. I missed Wednesdays and Thursday wasn't so bad, took it Thursday and it was back again yesterday so I didn't take it again last night so seeing how today is. If it's slightly better I won't take it again tonight as I'm convinced it's them

I would stop them for a day or two and then I was fine, then as soon as I took one again I would get the runs that same day within about an hour of taking one.
