I’ve been in hospital for eight days, and still on level 2 obs. Ie someone checking me every 15 minutes, day and night. I know it’s for safety because of the voices, but it’s still difficult. Not much to do here either, and the meds have me feeling sedated

It seems like not having much to do wouldn’t be very helpful.
Have you thought of some fun things you want to do when you’re back home again?

Good question. I’m not finding things enjoyable at the moment

Do you have access to a pen & paper? Any windows with a good view of things outside? Is the food pretty good? Are the nurses pleasant?

Art materials from time to time. Not much to see out of the windows. Some of the nurses are, some aren’t. The food is so so.

I hope your meds help soon. Can you say what happened that started all this?
The art materials sound like the only fun part there. Smile

They changed my meds a year and a half ago, and things went downhill from there. So they're changing them back to what they were before, pretty much.

Oh! So they helped you and it made things worse, and now they’re helping you again! Lucky you! Smile

Seriously though, I’m sure they are trying to do their best.
A year and a half of things going downhill sounds really rough.
Have you watched anything good on TV today?

UpOnDown · 23/02/2020 08:45

I know, just have to hope it will help this time! I don’t like to go into the tv lounge.

Paper cranes? Smile

UpOnDown · 23/02/2020 17:32

Possibly, good idea.

I just made a blue swan in your honor. Smile
I hope you have a good night.

cakeandchampagne · 23/02/2020 23:29

it isn’t a perfect crane Smile

UpOnDown · 24/02/2020 09:06

Thanks Smile. I slept on and off. I’m hoping there will be activities I can join in today

Anything fun there today? Any idea yet when you can go home?

UpOnDown · 24/02/2020 21:36

We made smoothies earlier. No discharge date yet.

Pancakes later...

Smoothies make me think of chocolate shakes. :)

Pancakes sound like fun too! What do you like to cook at home?

UpOnDown · 26/02/2020 09:17

I don’t really cook tbh. Start of another day...had leftover pancakes for breakfast, which was nice

OP posts:
cakeandchampagne · 26/02/2020 14:38

If you don’t cook, do you just eat a lot of simple foods?
Or maybe you live (too) near a McDonald’s?

UpOnDown · 26/02/2020 15:43

I eat simple foods. I'm fed up of feeling sedated now.

You’ve been on that medication before- how long did it take for that side effect to ease last time?

UpOnDown · 26/02/2020 20:26

It doesn’t always wear off unfortunately.

Have you had any visitors?

UpOnDown · 27/02/2020 13:38

No nobody lives close by

OP posts:
cakeandchampagne · 27/02/2020 19:51

Sorry nobody is close enough to come and visit. Of course, that makes it easier to joke with them about the “luxurious accommodations and gourmet meals“ there. Smile
I hope your day has been okay.
