I'm 99% sure I have it but I'm too anxious to tell my GP. Already taking antidepressants and having counselling but is there anything else I should be doing to help? How did you get diagnosed?

Not too much information online about bpd Hmm

The first step would be talking to your GP and asking for a referral to the adult mental health team for assessment. Depending on your area there maybe a bit of a wait for the appointment to come through. I had already googled the diagnostic criteria and knew I fit them so asked specifically if I had BPD as I seemed to fit the criteria.

If you do get a diagnosis ask about DBT. There’s a long waitlist for this in my area but it’s supposed to have good results. I’m also prescribed a mood stabiliser which is helping.

I got diagnosed in 2015 age 21 from a consultant psychiatrist. I saw the doctor and was referred. I did not engage with the help as I was unstable at the time.

I was on quatipine for 2 years(worst medication I have ever taken, the withdrawal was intense, felt things under my skin, hot sweats and could not sleep)

I stopped taking them years ago, I didn't go for DBT I did ask last month but my mental health has improved so much it would not help me in anyway. If you struggle day to day or have very high and very low moods DBT would help you.
