I've been taking fluoxetine for 7 days now. Was given it for moderate depression. I feel worse on them than I did before! I feel soooo tired all the time and so nauseous that I can't eat properly so then feel even more tired! Normally I exercise a few times a week and haven't been able to because I feel so dreadful. I'm taking them in the morning so far, should I switch to the evening or just give up on them?

They usually take a couple of weeks until you notice them working. If you want to stick with them, try taking them at night to see if that makes any difference to your energy levels. If not, talk to your GP to see if there is any alternative.
I was on fluoxetine in the past ad both DS1 and DH are both currently taking it.

Usually with antidepressants you feel worse on them for the first 14 days. Then you start to feel much, much better.

I was on this for a couple of years. I remember getting really sweaty palms for a week or two. Then I just felt really calm.

Thanks. Took one at night time yesterday and I don't feel as tired but still get that horrible queasy feeling and after 3pm I can't stop yawning! Will give it another week before I see a doctor
