Work stress - not sleeping. Anything I can take?

I'm undergoing a period of extreme stress at work at the moment. I don't want to be signed off sick as I need to be there to manage changes that affect my team. I'm having a lot of stress related symptoms but the most problematic is not sleeping. I have tried all the usual stuff (exercise, good sleep hygiene, meditation, calm app etc) but they don't work. If I can't sleep I am even less able to cope. The over the counter tablets (Diphenhydramine hydrochloride) work ok but I know they reduce sleep quality. Wine does too but I am trying not to resort to drink on a regular basis (family history of alcohol dependency). I will try and book a GP appointment but do you know if there is anything they can prescribe?

Ask your gp for a short course of zopiclone
They are marvellous

It's fabulous, I don't find it addictive and if I'm stressed, flying or going through a bad sleep period a couple of nights sorta me out

I have just been prescribed 2 weeks of zipiclone today in hope to reset my sleep cycle from a period of aniexty that has lead to sleep issues/not sleeping. I am also treating the aniexty so hope i will get back on track.

I have severe insomnia and anxiety and ocd aswell as fibromyalgia and Zopiclone and Zolpidem didn’t work for me.
The last time i was given them ( a few weeks ago ) I was prescribed the 7.5mg dose instead of the usual 3.75mg and they still did nothing.

I can get asleep but cannot stay asleep. I hope you manage to get some relief soon opFlowers
