Im just after abit of advice. My 26 year old sister who has two children and a partner has really bad mental health and has done for a while now we think. Last night my mum and my sister's partner had to take my sister to the hospital to be assesed by the mental health team. They were there for 10 hours before she was finally seen. My sister was in a really bad way hearing voices and seeing things. She was screaming and shouting and running around the hospital terrified and a complete mess. She has been having these episodes for a long time now but the last month has been the worst. The mental health team came and assesed her once the nurses had already given her medication to calm her down as she was so bad the other patients were terrified aswell. So by the time they came she was drowsy and saying shes fine just anxious and having a bad time at the moment. My mum tried so hard to get them to help her or maybe even section her as she was saying she was going to kill her self earlier and was clawing at her own face and banging her head again the wall on several occasions while in the hospital waiting. The mental health nurses basicaly gave her some tablets that she had already been taking for over a year and told her to go get counciling. We are all at a lose end and dont know what to do. We have all been trying to help her shes beem doctors so many times and they just keep palming her off. My concern is obviously for my sister but also my two young neices. She has a partnet but bless him hes not very good at all with all this and if im honest doesnt help at all. I think child services are getting involved now as she has had loads of complaint from neighbours and the childrens school about the welfare of the girls. Her house is also in a very bad way dog and cat poo/wee all over house. Food waste and rubbish every where and just cluttered with mess and dirt. Its honestly really bad. This post is getting really long now so i will just say that all the family have tried so hard to help even offering to look aftrr the girls for her while she gets her self sorted but she just responds with " i will kill myself if you take them" or " you just want to take them from me". The things those kids are witnessing is horrific! My sister is in such denial about it all aswell she sees nothing wrong with her or how she is living. Im sorry im on my phone typing fast so i hope i have made some sence. Im just wondering if anyone has any advise or know who we can contact to get some proper help? As the gp really hasnt been helping her. What i have wrote is just abit of whats going on. She really needs help im scared something is going to happen to her or the children. Any advise would be very appreciated.
