Constantly hungry on sertraline

It's the third AD I've tried. The others made me extremely tired. In terms of my mood, there is no doubt it's working but I've been on ADs for not much more than a year and I've put on a huge amount of weight. I've been on sertraline for about 5 months and I feel even hungrier all the time than I did on the previous drugs.

My doctor say it isn't the medication but I'm sure it is. Has anyone else experienced this? I'm sure part of it is that I don't feel the stress I used to feel when I over ate that would stop me, but I think it's more than just this.

I want to start a diet but I don't know if I'm setting myself up to fail while I'm taking ADs.

Following with interest. I’m also taking Sertraline and I’ve put on a good half a stone in the last few weeks. Before then, my weight had been consistently below 9 stone so I’m just a little worried by how quickly this has gone on. I don’t tend to think too much about how I eat, I just eat when I’m hungry, so I haven’t been doing anything different as such but I must be overeating.

I've been on sertraline since June 2019 and am shocked by my weight gain during that time, at least 1.5 stone. I'm the heaviest I have ever been apart from when pregnant. I think my appetite has increased, I'm eating way more sweet and sugary things, drinking more booze and have no discipline! Today I've started the Keto diet in an attempt to get back in shape. Obviously it's early days but I've not been craving sugar in the same way since I haven't eaten carbs today. It's so annoying, mentally this drug is the business but the side effects can create other issues!
