I've been prescribed trazodone but I've not started yet. How long have you been on it and what dose? I'm going to start on 25mg cutting the pill in half to hopefully minimize side effects. Happy to be your traz buddy to see how it goes for us!

I was on it short time. About 15 mins after taking I felt dizzy and I had to sit down. Once I took one just before going to work and I fainted in bus. It was stopped after that.

Arielle83 · 17/01/2020 19:39

Yeah I fainted and got took to hospital I was out cold but I was told by psychiatrist to persevere I'm on 200mg and feel dizzy a lot been on then 11 days x

I'm on 300mg have been for about a year. I don't take it all the time I mainly use it to help me sleep (as you can tell from my username I don't sleep well) but yes I get a lot of side affects, restless legs, can hardly stand the next day my legs won't hold me, feel dried out etc but tbh I really need to sleep so I take them that outweighs all the after effects

Arielle83 · 17/01/2020 19:59

They totally make be zonk out if I don't set my alarm god knows how long I'd sleep I'm taking them from depression and anxiety and trouble sleeping depression has lifted ever so slightly xx

I took them mornings and evenings but it was fifteen years ago.

Lo5tcause · 18/01/2020 20:45

I'm so scared to start taking them as I suffer from bad fatigue with another health issue which is why I have such low mood. If this makes me more tired the next day it will make me worse and defeat the purpose.

Arielle83 · 18/01/2020 21:16

25mg is a small dose you may not get as much as the side effects.... are you taking it for depression ? I've found that I need to go to bed a little earlier then norm then I don't feel as tired the next day xx

Anxiety and depression. Yes hopefully starting small then building up I wont get as bad side effects.

Arielle83 · 18/01/2020 22:32

Yeah I'm taking it for the same purposes fingers crossed it works for us both... the first night I took it I had no side effects it was about 5 days later and taking 300mgs I noticed side effects xx

Took my first trazodone last night 50mg capsule so couldn't half it. Never slept at all and feel terrible today. Couldn't get out of bed feel like I've been hit by a bus. I'm so upset as I thought this might work. I cant take another pill as I've 3 kids to look after and cant be in this state.

Arielle83 · 22/01/2020 11:30

I was like the first few I took it didn't settle down I've also just been put on Venaflaxine too which is a nightmare makes me really jittery xx

It's just a nightmare starting these pills. I dont have the luxury to take it easy for weeks to let them settle. Hope it settles down for you soon. Did traz help you sleep? I just expected it to at least put me to sleep. I'm stepping away from meds now they just dont work for me x

Londonmummy66 · 22/01/2020 12:45

I am on Venlafaxine and I agree it doesn't help with sleep. My consultant put me on quite a small dose of Trazadone to be taken in the evening to help me sleep which worked. I tended to feel a bit groggy and dizzy first thing but that usually passed by 9.30 ish. I was able to cut the Trazadone down gradually you can get it in a liquid form as well when cutting down and now only take Venlafaxine although I'm thinking of going back on a low dose of trazadone for a bit as my sleep is shot at the moment.
