Hi everyone just wanted to hear about other people’s success stories with esa mandatory reconsideration, my money got stopped on the 27th November since then I have sent in a letter and medical evidence as I suffer with depression anxiety ptsd and I also lost my 6 day old son Alfie July 2018 in traumatic circumstances I suffered a placental abruption loosing 2500ml of blood and my life was hanging in the balance aswell as my sons I survived only just and they told me I was very lucky but my son could not fight the trauma as was 28 weeks but luckily I had 6 amazing days with him, I have explained all of this in my letter with evidence on his birth and death certificate and also my counselling letter to prove I’m in counselling, I’m still in shock that I didn’t get awarded my esa but st the time I had just lost my grandad 10 months after my son who I named after my grandad, when I went for the yearly assesment my head was up my ass sorry for the term of phrase lol and I forgot it’s a new decision maker every year I was numb and don’t think I provided enough evidence to do with my son and what happened to us and my grandad and how it hasn’t affected me, they also lied about a few things on the assessment which I was shocked about!!! I’m hoping with all my evidence and a 8 page letter long of how everything effects me and arguing the points and giving them an insight to what happened to me in 2018 that they can resolve this, I rang them yesterday and they told me they have until 15th January Wednesday to make a decision and if I haven’t heard anything to call back on that’s date to chase it up with them to find out a decision, did anyone contact you through the madatory process for good or bad reasons? I have heard they ring if they can’t make a change to the decision to see if you have any other evidence i haven’t received a phone call so hoping and praying that means it could be a good outcome, can anyone tell me there experiences of the process many thanks

Do you have evidence of how you fit the descriptors

https://www.disabilityrightsuk.org/wca-limited-capability-work-assessment-descriptors

If you click on each descriptor it will tell you what they are looking for and points you get for them.

I had 450 pages of relevant info for my partners renewal and still had to take it to tribunal.

I’m sorry for your losses Flowers

I'm very sorry for your losses Flowers

I recently had a successful mandatory reconsideration so it does happen. Did your counsellor write a letter detailing your conditions on your behalf? I think it really helps to reiterate how looking for or doing any kind of work would be detrimental to your health and would cause a worsening of your conditions. If you aren't successful you can always go to tribunal where you will be much more likely to have the decision overturned.

Best of luck
