Nervous exhaustion

I'm currently signed off work with nervous exhaustion after a horrendous 18 months. This is the third of three weeks and I go back to my job on Monday. It's in Higher Ed and I work away from home all week - it's full on and I'm stretched over lots of areas. My doctor was very abrupt when I saw her and while she signed the note, I've been given no information on how to get and stay well. I can try and reduce workload but I'm just so sick of feeling constantly exhausted. Any ideas? Iron levels are low so I'm taking supplements. Other symptoms were anxiety attacks which I don't want any more of either. Would appreciate any ideas of how to look after myself and not feel so overwhelmed.

Sorry you're feeling like this. I know it's hard when you're feeling exhausted but the only thing helping my extreme anxiety at the moment is exercise. In the days I'm not training I feel drained and anxious. But I'm energised and positive on exercise days. Meditation and yoga also help and eating clean.

Thank you for your reply. thought exercise might come up! This is difficult as part of my difficult 18 months was completely severing my Achilles and I'm still in recovery - can't run yet. Start Pilates next week though. Have just spent 2 hours working. Gah....
