Has anyone tried nlp or hypnotherapy for anxiety and depression? Currently drowning in a downward spiral of anxiety unable to function and desperate to try something else. Counselling and and SSRIs haven't helped. Any experience welcomed.

Hi
Yes I’ve tried both And neither worked.
In fact I’ve tried everything. I’ve spent a fortune.

Sorry not to be helpful but save your money. When we are desperate we are willing to try anything, I really do know how you feel.

Try another counsellor / medication maybe,
Mindfulness
Eating properly. Sleep
Exercise helps others - I haven’t had any luck with it.
Have you looked into emdr- that has good reviews. Only thing I haven’t tried

Oh no sorry it didn't work for you. That's the worry spending a fortune for nothing. I've been quoted £500 for 4 sessions of nlp/hypnotherapy. It seems like a miracle cure according to all the reviews I've read of this particular therapist. The sceptic in me thinks it wont work for me.

Feeling desperate though. Emdr might be worth looking at as a lot of my anxiety stems from a few traumatic events. How are you feeling at the moment fish? I've started exercising early days but helping a bit.

What about CBT?

Better success rates imo than nlp and hypnotherapy.

Check people's accreditation Smile

I've thought about cbt just never got on with talking therapy before. This therapist is a best selling author so he seems successful but I'm still unsure about spending so much.

I think if you're willing to try it that's all that matters.

I recently stopped seeing my therapist after exactly three years in therapy most of that at twice a week and have spent more than £5280 not including 2019.

My depression hasn't magically been cured, but I honestly know that he's the the reason I'm alive today.

I have a really good friend who treats both.
She's had a very high success rate and has client testimonials.

She is a Master Practitioner and is accredited by the American Association (I think that's the name!)

She trained in it after having the treatment herself when nothing else worked and credits it with saving her life.

She does free consultations and her prices are lowe than you've quoted.

Obviously no pressure but if you want her details PM me and I'll pass them along.

I hope, no matter what you decide, you get some help and can enjoy life again Flowers
