Levothyroxine and sertraline

Hi all

Just started sertraline. Currently take Levothyroxine on waking and have been waiting an hour - 90 mins before taking the sertraline

Is this ok? Can anyone recommend how to take them or let me know what they do?

Hi, I was advised to take Levothyroxine 50g in morning and take the Sertraline 50g at bedtime and take both with a glass of water.

I take thyroxine and sertraline at the same time. I’ve been doing this for two years. I didn’t know that you weren’t supposed to do this. That’ll teach me to not read the leaflet.

I take Levo & Sertraline exactly the opposite to Wildcat!
As recommended by my Consultant, so I'm sticking with their plan.

I was told to take Levo first thing, and wait half an hour before taking anything else or eating.

I take the contraceptive pill too so I take this before bed

I've thought about taking the Levothyroxine before bed but apparently you can eat for 4 hours before!

Interesting how people do it and how different!

I take my Levo first thing with every other tablet I need (it’s a long list). Only ever been told not to have dairy within an hour of taking it. Currently not on sertraline although I was for a while and still took it all together.

Oh and having taken levo for years and sometimes been really strict with how I’ve taken it, sometimes not, I’ve realised that my levels don’t dip even if I’ve taken it after food, missed a day or so here and there, eaten dairy etc

PurpleFrames · 02/01/2020 20:59

I have never followed the rules for any of my meds (no grapefruit, dairy after an hour etc) and I've turned out ok so don't worry too much.

I know I should >
