I don’t know why, I was so excited and festive on the run up to Xmas, felt pretty sad Xmas Night, Boxing Day Night and tonight! I just don’t feel like this year was great and I don’t feel optimistic about the year to come!!

Dd (who has autism) is still wide awake and will be a mess tomorrow. I feel like an awful Mum and I’m just so tired. I feel as though I achieve nothing in life and everything I try fails.

It’s a woe is me post!!

Every day you achieve something, you just have to count and congratulate yourself on the little things. Don’t be so hard on yourself. There is so much pressure and expectation around new year when in reality it’s just a night like any other.

I’m off to bed and wouldn’t swap it for any New Year’s Eve party Grin

Be kind to yourself Flowers

Hi OP. I feel the same. DS 15 is also on the spectrum and is currently building lego as he is feeling really depressed at the moment and lego takes his mind off it.
I feel flat and empty. I am fat. Alone. Broke. My ex is partying with his new partner and has only seen DS for an hour over Christmas.
Everyone is posting their highs and lows of the last decade and I just want to scream. My life seems to plummet lower every year!
So woe is me too

I doubt that you're an awful mum, I bet you do everything to do the best of your ability. Don't put yourself down dear. I think we are all quick enough to criticize ourselves but not so quick to praise. Give yourself some praise sometimes. I'm feeling very down too but this shall pass and we shall see the light somewhere Xx

Yep. And ADHD diagnosis for me & suspected ADHD for my 4yo has me feeling glum. I feel as though my foundations have changed & I feel worried for the future.
Even though I am incredibly lucky in lots of ways. Sending love Thanks

Hi guys

I feel very low this time of year. I don't particularly like Xmas, and the spell between Boxing Day and New Year's is just so depressing and it makes me anxious. In contrast, I had my first baby in August and can honestly say this has been my best year but I still want to ball my eyes out tonight. I just hate it and I'll be happy when it's over and I can take my damn Xmas tree down in the next day or two.

Sending love out to you all xx
