What does it feel like for you when you're anxious or stressed?

And what do you do to reset yourself?

In my experiences, anxiety and stress manifests itself as a complete weight on my mood. When I am stressed, I am prone to withdrawing myself from social scenarios and I become somewhat more irritable.

I thankfully have a wonderful family that helps me relax, though I often stress myself out by taking on more work than I can handle... lol.

I think the best things to do when you are stressed are take a break from the scenario you're in or just step away from the situation and look at what needs to be done. Talking it out with a trusted person and gaining new insights is always helpful as well. Definitely look into self-care and spend time doing things just to entertain and cheer yourself up.

Best wishes x

This is what it feels like to me. I avoid situations I find stressful as far as possible. Probably not the beat solution. And talk to my friends and family about my stresses. That helps too. Hope you’re okay xx

Anxiety is very physical for me. I feel sick in my stomach, like a head cold is coming on, shaky.

Stress is harder to define, that's more in my behaviour, like getting obsessive, lack of sleep, poor eating, "can't stop" mentality, all of which contribute to fatigue.

I know what these don't feel like, as I've just had a week off recovering from a virus, I feel calm, happy, smiley, fairly relaxed.

When I get very stressed/anxious, it usually ends up with a physical illness, which forces me to stop. Other ways of managing it day to day - an early night/good nights sleep, a hot bath, yoga stretches, breathing/meditation exercises, healthy food, going for a brisk walk, cooking, music in the background, watching comedy.

I've just downloaded the Calm App and been listening to bedtime stories. Flowers

Checking in here as just signed myself off for a few days as really struggling. I think the last time I was off sick was about ten years ago so not an easy thing to do for me. I know I am struggling and feel like I cannot breathe. No wise words but trying to step back a bit. I need to refocus in the new year as I cannot continue like this. Not sleeping and just feeling like I am on edge all the time.

Sorry to hear others stories but it's also a bit of a relief to know I'm not alone
