I've recently had visualisation recommended to me as a way of coping with my anxiety - apparently I'm not 'bad enough' for medication. Has anyone tried it and had any success? From what I can gather it involved picturing yourself in a different, calming environment. Ive always been rubbish at meditating so I'm wondering if this is really for me but I'm willing to give anything a try at this point

It has been useful for me- it does sound wishy washy but it has quite a good evidence base so do give it a go! If you need help don't be put off and accept "your not bad enough", only you know how your lift is affected. All the best x

Thank you! Not really sure where to begin. Are there any good videos on YouTube? I am reluctant to go on medication as my anxiety comes and goes but I think an effective tool like this could help me in the situations where it arises. I'm just a bit sceptical. But willing to try anything!

The headspace app is very good for regular mediation and uses some visualisation. It’s starts off with just a few minutes and gradually builds from there. Hope it helps
