I'm on day 5 of 50mg sertraline I'm getting bad heartburn anyone else get this? So far I have no loss of appetite unfortunately lol. How long have people found it takes to notice a difference?
I was taking citalopram before but didn't feel it was helping anymore and had enough of the headaches so thought I'd try something else.

I used to get bad heartburn: if you’re not already, try taking them in the morning with plenty of water and not lying down for a while afterwards. It took about 3 weeks before I noticed a difference in my symptoms

I seem to remember a full thread on this once before as someone had really bad burning in her oesophagus after swallowing without water. Everyone said make sure you drink plenty with the tablet and I'd try and take it with food. If it's not agreeing with you after trying this I'd go back to doc.

I do take it in morning with water and breakfast. I get a little heartburn after taking it but it seems to hit me at night as soon as I lay down. It's literally only been since I started taking it, the only other time I get heartburn is when I'm pregnant and I'm definitely not haha! I'll keep taking it and hope it goes away, I'm not back to dr for review until jan!

@sofiathe2nd did the heartburn stop after 3 weeks too?

It did, but I’d been taking it and then having a nap so once I stopped that it resolved, not sure what to suggest except give it time and gaviscon?! Do hope it works for you xx
