Woke up with a hot flush last night, really bad shaky hot and dizzy.

I started escitalopram 5 days ago and took it before bed, could this be from that?

Yes, it can. I had horrible hot flushes when I started on it last May. They eased off but I got them again when the doctor increased my dose.
I also had a few nights where I was drenched in sweat.
Now I'm tapering off them, they have started again. I hope I never have to go on them again because I've also had muscle aches and prickly skin. Some people never get any of these.

Yep they come with a whole array of side effects to begin with, it can be pretty shit.

The good news is that It goes off after about a week and coincides with starting to do their job.
