I have suffered with bouts of depression for half my life so I should be used to it. But I'm not, I hate it. So here it is again. Anyone any tips on what to do? How to cope? On the outside I'm fine. But inside I feel terrible

I had a horrible bout of depression last year, I wrote a list of things to do if I felt that way again.

Not got it handy but I remember the first one, which was tell someone how you feel - the unedited version.

I think the second one was make time for yourself. Flowers

Try to remember it comes in phases. You won't always feel so bad.

Do small things in the day that are nice for you or have something to look forward to in the diary - could be as small as hot choc or a weekend out somewhere you want to go or seeing a friend that makes you feel good

Get outside for a short walk.

Anti depressants do help me.

Is it something that is triggering your depression? Can you look to make some changes?

Hugs.

It seems to be this time of year that's the trigger. Being a single mum is hard and I miss the family unit. Also my daughter is struggling to settle at secondary school, she is on the transfer list to move schools but it's hard to see her upset not wanting to go to school x

Be kind to yourself, remember you are doing a great job.

Do you know how long the transfer will take? Flowers
