Hi all just looking to vent really. I’m suffering at the moment from very bad anxiety. I know what’s triggered it but it’s honestly awful. I feel sick. I can’t barely eat feel. It’s very much affecting me at this moment. I know I have just got to ride it out but does anyone have any ideas/methods to relieve it somewhat as it’s bloody awful. Thanks in advance

Sorry to hear you are suffering so badly at the moment kateshair.
DH has been suffering from severe stress and anxiety for the last few months (off work with it). As you know there are no quick fixes but there are a couple of things DH has found very helpful.

There is a book called 'The Chimp Paradox' which was recommended to DH by a MH professional, which he found really enlightening and helpful. I cant remember the author at the moment but I'm sure you can google it.

There is also an app about a method called a WRAP plan (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) which helps you to structure your days in order to minimise your stress and anxiety. Again I can't remember the specific name of the app.

Hope you feel better soon.

Hi thanks preprombabe ! I will definitely google your suggestions. I’ve taken a Nytol tablet which is helping a little or rather just making me feel drowsy which is a lot better than severe anxiety xx

If something horrible has happened to you which you can't get past you could consider EMDR therapy. It's used for people with PTSD but also for people with ongoing trauma (eg dialysis patients). The NHS uses it but you'd realistically probably have to go private.
