I am close to breaking point. Ds's are just destroying everything they own, ds1 has pissed all over the toilet floor. Dp won't get out of bed and is constantly moaning about being ill, but when I am ill has a go at me for even mentioning it. He never wants to do anything at the weekends, does nothing to contribute to the running of the house. Our house is literally falling apart - need to do loads of work, but can't afford to do it. I am jsut really fed up. Sorry for the rant, just need a shoulder to cry on!!!

You poor thing xxx

I find ignoring dh's who moan a way forward. Earplugs are fantastic for this.

Jazzicatz, I know how you feel! My children keep trashing the place. They all had me up last night and I'm knackered. My dh isn't here but if he was he would be sleeping. So I'm sitting on MN ignoring them all in my pyjamas. Going to go and get dressed any minute.....
I have no advice because I don't know how to help myself either!

Poor you jazzicatz. Leave the piss on the bathroom floor and if your dp slips in it he may just see where you're coming from.

Thanks everyone, ds's are currently running around the house like loonies, dp still in bed - feel like walking out at the mo!

Pour a bucket of cold water over sleeping dp.

Get your coat on, and go for a walk.

With regards to the house, are there not little things that you could do on the cheap? Touch up the skirting boards, clear up the clutter? Perhaps tackle one room at a time?

My dh is very lazy when it comes to DIY. However, if I rummage around in the shed long enough, he generally comes out and asks me what I'm doing. The merest hint that I'm looking for the drill to put a shelf up usually provokes him into action.

My house should be on DIY SoS, needs a bit more than a touch up - but thanks Desiderata, you made me smile!

Ring DIY SOS!

Take the children for a very long walk and a play in the park.
Leave DP a note to say that you will be out until 1pm, then he is in charge of the children until 5pm.
Then get yourself out of the house for a few hours.
