Waking up exhausted from sleep

Has anyone ever had a problem with very vivid dreams distressing them? Every morning I wake up exhausted and down after having a very detailed dream about not much.... like this morning I had a dream about moving out of a house I used to share with friends. I have kind of lost touch with them (which I find upsetting but at the same time I could message them at any time). Bizarrely if it was a dream about something genuinely distressing I would be better able to deal.

I long to wake up feeling rested and it just isn't happening for me... I will try anything x

Me! I think the dreaming stage of sleep isn't the deep sleep we need so that should explain it a bit!

Do you wake up to an alarm?
I have a sleep app which wakes me up somewhere in the 30 minutes before the alarm time, based on when I'm rousing from deep sleep. Since I started using this I can't remember the last time I woke with a dream still in my mind.

I don't use a sleep app. Maybe I should. I seem to wake up a lot for no reason. It is really wearing me down😩
