MH issues and working

I’m interested to see what you think and what works for you.
I have long term fairly serious MH issues which clearly aren’t about to leave me, as much as I wish they would.
I’ve been trying to hold on to my part time job and I’m really struggling. Work is definitely something that adds a pressure.
To add a bit of context I take 5 different medications at least once a day and I have almost completely withdrawn socially (apart from work, that’s just about all I can manage plus looking after my only child / teen who has LD).
Help! The world is feeling very lonely right now.

Do you need to do this part time role?
Could you get signed off and do perhaps a few half days volunteering to get the rewards of working but without targets and pressure

In answer to your question, I don’t know if I have to do it. I’ve always worked so feel bad even contemplating not, But I feel worse for working.
I wonder if I didn’t work I might have a fighting chance to improving but I feel so conflicted.
My doctor was certainly declare me unfit for work, she’s been on at me for ages to take some time out.
I think if I did, I think it’s a great idea to do some volunteering. Thank you.
