Hi, I'm on 337.5mg MR. Venlafaxine.

I do get tiredness but I've been on it for years & can honestly say it's saved my life.

Keep going as it does get better!

The depression will give you the lack of feeling and tiredness it may not necessarily the venlafaxine causing it
Unless you know for certain that you weren’t like that before taking Venlafaxine?
It’s very early days 7 days, it probably only just getting into your system. I’d say anything from 7-14 days.
I presume you’ve started on 37.5mg
Try to get the Effexor brand slow release (gp don’t like giving it as it’s the expensive one)
I’d say before you increase be sure you’ve been on it at least 6 weeks at that dose, to get used to it in your system and SE settled down don’t rush to the next dose 75mg
Everyone as different SE, you may have none😀

I started on 37.5mg, it wasn’t a easy switch for me as I was really depressed and had bad anxiety. I eventually settled at 150mg for a few years, I had another bout of bad anxiety that didn’t come down so upped again and I’m now on 225mg.

Thank you for the replies both. I have started at 75mg, as you said early days yet the lack of motivation and tiredness were there before :( but this just seems to have ramped it up I literally do the school run and then struggle to do anything at all taken me 5 hours today just to put the dishwasher on and change the washing machine just sitting there spaced out and just cant be bothered to do anything I know what jobs need doing I know they need doing and i so want to do them but just cannot fathom the energy to do anything :( starting to wonder if I'm just lazy.

Hopefully this fog will start lifting soon. I hope you are both ok thank you again for replying hope you have a good weekend xx

Not much help, but I had a bad reaction to Venlafaxine.

I took my first pill at 10pm and woke up at 4am dripping with sweat to the point there was a pool of it on my chest. My heart was pounding at 140 bpm, I felt very dizzy, nauseous and like all my veins were about to burst.

Every heart beat was like a swooshing wash though my system - I could feel the blood rushing through me from my toes, fingers, lips, nose, ears - I could even 'hear' it!

I was rushing about the place like I was on speed, jabbering away incoherently, talking faster than my brain could keep up with making no sense at all.

I had red blotches all over my body and was suffering small spasms.

it was a very scary experience which my Dr put down to an allergic reaction to noradrenalin.

Needless to say I didn't take another one and it took me about three days to feel 'normal' again.

2 week review today, doctor has upped my dose to 150mg and giving me sleeping tablets. Spend all day tired and struggling willing it to be time for bed only to lay there for 3 hours unable to sleep and when I do I have the craziest dreams. Really hoping I start to feel different soon ☹

Yer venla can give you weird dreams on start up, I remember having them.
If when you start the 150mg and you think it’s too much SE to cope with go back down, and go to 112.5mg I did this. 2 weeks is still early to be upping already, but that’s me I was scared to death taking it.

It’s the anxiety that’s keeping you from sleeping, I’d be that wired yawning my head off but still couldn’t sleep like you.
I got zopiclone then after I got antihistamine from gp that helps with sleep which I felt better with than sleeping pills.
