I’m confused as I had a bad car crash in 2016 and I believe I could have died yet I’m still here in 2019. It confuses me daily

I believe I could have died
What do you mean?

That you narrowly escaped death?

That you may have been resuscitated but you werent told?

Or you believe you are actually "dead"?

I'm not trying to be dismissive. Just trying to clarify

Pinkterest · 30/09/2019 21:09

It’s difficult to say. I could really think all of the above

Well I'm not MH professional but would guess you have some form of ptsd.

Have you talked about it with anyone who is qualified to help you make sense of what must have been a horrific experience ?

I don’t know what ptsd means. I think it’s more of a parallel universe. It wasn’t a bad experience because it was quick and it was a while ago now. Thank you for your message

Ptsd is Post traumatic stress disorder.

Do you realise you contradicted yourself? You say it was a bad car crash but it wasn't a bad experience?

The mind does strange things to protect itself. I'd put my money on a traumstic response to a life threatening event, rather than you being shifted to a parallel universe.

Pinkterest · 30/09/2019 21:24

Yes actually I’ve heard of it.
I didn’t mean to contradict myself I apologise. I tried to speak to someone today at the train ticket office but they didn’t say very much about it.
The mind is it’s own parallel universe.

I'd head for the GP to get a referral to a mental health practitioner if I were you. Good luck.

This isn’t for the GP I don’t think

Hi OP, I had a life threatening event, until it happens you don't know how it will affect you. Try to focus on what is. You are very lucky to have survived an awful, random event. Have you spoken to the road crash charity Brake? I ended up having a mini breakdown two and a half years later but came out stronger and with renewed vigor. Now when I feel like it I am able to share my experiences to help others who went through the same type of specific event. Good luck.

Is there a chance you can get some counseling to talk it through?
