Pregnancy with EUPD/BPD

Hello,

I have Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder and I'm thinking of trying to conceive. I'm just wondering if I will need additional care during pregnancy and if so what will that involve? Obviously I will speak to my mental health team at my next appointment but that is 3 weeks away and I can't ring them to ask them a silly question like this so any advice much appreciated.

Anna

Hi :)
I also have eupd/bpd and I didn't get any extra support. I'm guessing if you are under the care of a CMHT or similar they'd still be there during your pregnancy. Also speak to them about meds u are on, if any. I came off of some of mine (quetiapine) whilst pregnant.
Bpd is such a diverse condition, you really dont kno how pregnancy will affect u, if at all :)
I'd say post pregnancy care is more important as that's where I struggled personally, without trying to alarm you but if u have a team on board, you'll be in safe hands.
I hope that helped a bit?
