I am broken

For a million reasons. But it’s gone on long enough and I need a sick note so I can start to try and look after myself.

I’m calling the doctors tomorrow.

But please someone help me work out what to say. How does that conversation even start???

In my experience, GP asked what brings you here today and I just started crying! Became obvious from there and she then led the convo. Can you write down a couple of lines e.g. I am overwhelmed/not sleeping/eating/looking after myself properly and I don't know what to do next.

Hi op

Well done for making the really hard decision to call the GP. I would write a few pointers down to take to the GP just in case you can’t find your voice like I sometimes can’t.

What’s brought you to this point? I would say that you came today as you have reached a point where you feel you need to ask for help.

I am so sorry you are feeling this way OP. You are doing the right thing by asking for help.

Could you maybe start by explaining the symptoms? Also let them know how long it's going on? This hopefully will kick start a conversation and I am sure they will ask questions too.

I hope you feel better soon

Have you tried writing down how you fell? You could hand it over to them to read? Or if you write things down, you may be able to create a bullet point list of what's worrying you? Ie: lack of sleep, feeling down, anxious, scared etc etc?

Thanks just remember that your GP wants to help & you don't need to worry about being eloquent or using the right words x

Writing it down - only when I send myself abusive messages 😔

Thanks everyone... I’ll just, I dunno. Blurt it all out
