Is it normal

I guess by asking the question ‘is it normal’ there’s probably something not normal with what is going on.

I am having fleeting and reoccurring suicidal thoughts, and they won’t go away. I haven’t got any mental health issues. I wrote this into google and it came up with the number for Samaritans. I spoke to them but felt they were too ‘softly spoken and gentle’.

I’m not going to act on this and I still plan to continue life as normal but what I want to know is if having these thoughts is normal. Thank you

Not really sure what to say OP but I didn't want to leave your post unanswered, probably best to see your doctor asap as a start. Did something happen in your life before these thoughts started?

some ads cause those thoughts.

Intrusive thoughts? DH used to get them often and he eventually learned why they came about and how to deal with them after a short course of CBT.

Have a look at pure o.

A form of ocd that is intrusive thoughts.

I have this, and take sertraline.

See a gp, and have a look to see if pure o strikes a cord.

You can also self refer for Cbt counselling.

I think suicide in itself is a fairly distressing thought so you are better off seeking help soon for it.

Are there other things you need to deal with or just this? That would inform the type of counselling to have e.g. person centered, cbt etc.
