Hi everyone, I am 10 weeks pp and I'm suffering from really bad anxiety im struggling to get out the house as think something really bad is going to happen to me or my children I also have a 3 year old little girl and worried it's taking an effect on her. I have seen GP who has mentioned medication but trying to find any other way to help me other than medication due to me breastfeeding any advice?

Sorry to hear that you're feeling so low, OP. It sounds like you're getting RL help which is great and you might also find some interesting reading here

Hopefully some wise MNers will be along very soon to offer advice and support too.

Best of luck.

Are you able to afford private therapy? It's the only thing that worked for me, had it an hour a week for a year, completely changed my life.

If not, could you go back to your GP but just keep insisting you don't want to go down the medical route? They may refer you for CBT on the NHS or something, I'm not sure.

Good luck Thanks

There are certain medications that you can take while breastfeeding, so don't just automatically assume that you can't take anything.
Just be very clear with your GP about your worries.

Sorry you’re feeling this way, OP. Speak to your dr, ask to be referred for CBT, it helped me a lot!
