Exposure therapy

Hello all

Has anyone tried exposure therapy. My anxiety is around one specific thing happening and I'm likely to be exposed to it soon. So all my intrusive thoughts are back and anxiety at max... Does anyone think this will work? As do it, realise its OK and then the next time it's easier?

Lots of evidence for exposure therapy. It should be graded though where you start with only mild-moderately anxiety provoking stimuli, so its not overwhelming. You should also have control over what you choose to do. Good luck

So the exposure that is likely coming is the smallest /shortest possible.
I've exhausted everything else, cbt, counselling, meds. Nothing works so it's been presented again, I have a small amount of control over it about a much as I can. In another situation it could be just that I'm told, it's for a good chunk of time and that's it so this feels like a good place to start... I've decided in my head that's its not x happening but it's part of my recovery?
