Help! My DM who is in her late 70s developed severe depression and anxiety about a year ago and things are getting worse.

Yesterday she said she couldn't be left alone because she felt out of control, and was terrified, so I dropped everything and have spent the night at hers. I phoned the crisis team and eventually they agreed they will send someone out today.

But where do we go from here? I am worried we will just get platitudes from them and an instruction to wait for psychiatry appointment ( which is 2 weeks time). But how can I leave her? I live 150 miles away and have a family I can't be away from for too long.

Maybe ask her to move up near you or if this is u reasonable maybe she needs to go into a care home where she can have 1 to 1 and all the support she needs. Also this will help take some pressure off you as you won't have to juggle your life with hers and you won't be worrying about her as much
